James Dorsey
Black Star Aviation LLC is proud to have an owner with a strong aviation background dating back to the 1980’s. James Dorsey holds an FAA Airline Transport Pilot license, an Aircraft Dispatcher license, an Advanced Ground Instructor license, and a Instrument Ground Instructor license.
In addition James holds type ratings for the Cessna Citation 500 series aircraft, the Cessna Citation XLS/XLS+, the Falcon 900 series aircraft, the Falcon 50, and the Falcon 20 aircraft’s. He has worked in operations for such companies as DHL Airways, New York Air, Florida Express Airlines, Command Airways, AMR/American Eagle, and FlexJet.
James has also been privileged to fly for Ameristar Jet Charter, and Jet Linx Aviation. He has also managed several models of piston single and multi engine aircraft.
James served honorably in the USAF and the Texas State Guard as a aircrew life support airman, and as a flight supervisor Security Forces respectively.
He attended Tarrant County College receiving a degree in Business Administration and Criminal Justice. James continues to serve the community as a 1st Lieutenant in Civil Air Patrol an official auxiliary of the USAF. He also serves as a reserve Deputy Sergeant with the Dallas County Constables Pct. 5.
